About Me...
My name is Linda Jordan and I like making crochet hats!
I've always liked making stuff. A crafter at heart, I used to do lots of things with our church youth, working with the mission groups, VBS, and doing plays. Later I took my skills to senior adults at a local assistant living facility, where I worked for 3 years!
I am an experienced genealogist, having started at age 16. I still living on the 164-year-old family farm that I had certified as a Virginia Century Farm as a result of my research. Today I create heritage cookbooks in addition to providing family history research books for clients.
Growing up in the country led to a love of nature and animals. These days I enjoy my greenhouse, have lots of houseplants and take walks in the woods behind our house. I count one crazy rescue cat named Kitty and a little SPCA Terrier Mix named Abby, among my fur children.
I have been married 20 years. Hubster is retired and we reinvent ourselves daily. My 2 daughters are now incredible young women living productive and meaningful lives.
I started playing piano at age 6 and took lessons for 7 years. I sold my antique piano (like the one Andy Griffith had on TV) after over 40 years. I miss it, but now love my contemporary Yamaha keyboard.
I am a computer geek who knows enough to help my neighbors with their computer problems and maintenence. I enjoy being an online seller andI own the ECCENTRIC THRIFTER online thrift store. Since Hubster and I share a common love of thrift stores, yard sales, and flea markets we enjoy treaure hunts on a regular basis. My CABANA THREADS Hawaiian shirt store is also included in my thrift store.
ABOUT THE NAME:
The name LadieAnn comes from my genealogy research. I own my great-great grandfather's Bible which had a list of children who had died young, The youngest, LadieAnn was born November 30, 1892 and died December 10, 1892. It must have been so hard on my great-great parents - they lost 6 out of 7 children. Children born between census years were never documented. To the world, they never even existed. Using the LadieAnn name is to remember all those children who never had a chance.
